Overheard in the classroom: “Who’s Robert Frost? Is he somebody?” After a discussion about the three year drought and water restrictions: “But didn’t it rain last week?” “How can a diary be a firsthand account? Someone had to copy it.”

Writing recommendations is a strange thing.  It means two things: first, that the student really likes you, and two, that the student thinks you like them back. It warms the heart a little.
